Holiday Social Event Saturday 12/6/25

‘Tis the season to be holly and jolly (on the courts)!  See your invitation below for our upcoming event, sponsored by SportsMed.  This year, we will gather at Rocket City Pickleball Club’s indoor courts for free play from 9am – noon on Saturday, Dec 6.  We will have courts for all skill levels, and holiday treats to share.  

We’ll have some cool door prizes, too.  Everyone present will get at least one door prize ticket.  You can get an extra ticket if you bring a food donation for the North Alabama Food Bank Suggested donations:  Cans of vegetables/soups/beef stew/meats (preferably with pull tab tops), cereal, pasta, rice, powdered or shelf stable milk. 

You can also get an extra door prize ticket if you renew your membership for 2026 (either before arriving or on-site).  Come and go as you like, but you must be present to win a door prize.  Membership for 2026 remains $10.  Use the link below to join or renew.  This event is FREE for current HPC members only.

HPC and Huntsville Parks and Rec Team up!

The Huntsville Pickleball Club will be partnering with the Huntsville Parks and Recreation Department (Challenger Gym) to offer a drills/skills session on Monday, January 5th from 2-4 pm.  Everyone is welcome and the intent is to have courts set up at the 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 level for different drills/skills.  Based on the number of attendees at the different levels, we may combine groups.

We are approaching the time of year when we hold our Huntsville Pickleball Club General Membership Meeting and Board member elections.

Whether you have been in the HPC for a while or are a new member, being part of the board is an opportunity to be part of a great team that is passionate about growing the sport of pickleball in Huntsville!  The positions are fun, and you have a great team of experienced members to help you as you learn the ropes!

Huntsville Pickleball ClubBoard Member Positions

The Executive Board is comprised of eight (8) elected members; a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and four (4) non-office holding members who provide various functional support activities, ie. Facilities and Equipment, Club Development, Training Director and Social Chair.

The following positions are open to interested candidate volunteers:  President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  Additionally, we are looking for new candidates for the Club Development and Social Chair positions. A brief description of the duties and responsibilities is outlined below:

President: Shall preside over all club meetings and be accountable for the administration of club business. The President shall carry out the direction and policies established by the Board of Directors. The President shall ensure that all Board members read, understand, and fully comply with the Huntsville Pickleball Club By-Laws, Policies and Rules.

Vice-President: Shall perform all duties of the President in the event of the President’s absence or inability to perform and shall also perform other such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Secretary: Shall keep the club records, issue notices of all meetings of the Board of Directors or General Membership, shall keep minutes thereof, conduct correspondence relating to the club’s business, and furnish requested (non-financially related) reports to other persons or organizations as may be required. The Secretary may also perform other such duties as may be assigned by the club President.

Treasurer: Shall receive and deposit all monies due to the club and pay all obligations that may be incurred by the club in the regular course of its business; shall keep an up-to-date ledger of all financial transactions and provide financial reports as may be required at all meetings of the Board of Directors and/or General Membership; and prepare and submit Year End Reports as requested by Club Officers.

Facilities and Equipment Director: Shall be responsible for the maintenance, repair and acquisition (as approved by the Executive Board) of all necessary equipment for the operation of club activities; shall also coordinate with appropriate City Park and Rec personnel for maintenance and operation of City pickleball courts.  CURRENT INCUMBENT WILL REMAIN IN POSITION FOR CY26/27.

Club Development Director: Shall be responsible for developing and coordinating Club activities with various Huntsville civic organizations to help grow the sport of pickleball within Huntsville and the surrounding areas; will work closely with the Training Director for specific training requests from outside organizations.

Training Director:  Shall be responsible for Club training programs and events; shall also coordinate with civic organizations asking for help with training for local events and programs; will work closely with the Club Development Director to promote and develop Pickleball in Huntsville and the surrounding areas.  CURRENT INCUMBENT WILL REMAIN IN POSITION FOR CY26/27.

Social Committee Director: Shall be responsible for the development, implementation and facilitation of all Club sponsored social events; will work closely with the Executive Board on determining events for the year and estimated costs.

Huntsville Learning Center Pickleball 2026

The Huntsville Pickleball Club will be supporting the Huntsville Learning Center with a series of classes for an Introduction to Pickleball. There will be 8-12 students we will be working with, and play will be indoors.

Classes will be on Tuesday afternoon from 3:30-4:30 beginning on Jan 6 and ending on Feb 24.

The Huntsville Learning Center is located at 3207 Kavanaugh Dr NW, Huntsville AL 35810.

All volunteers must complete a background check form that I can have emailed to you.

Don’t Miss Glow Play 2025 – Free for HPC!

It’s time to GLOW PLAY again!  This year, HPC has teamed up with Rocket City Pickleball Club (RCPC) and SportsMed to offer a new version of Glow in the Dark Pickleball.

Where: 3228 Leeman Ferry Rd SW. 

We will have 8 courts to offer play for all skill levels.  Be sure to wear white or neon colored clothing!!  We will have body paint available and neon tape to decorate your paddles.  Please refrain from bringing large bags, so we can keep floor space and walkways clear.

This event is FREE for all HPC members, so if you haven’t renewed your membership, please do so at the link below.  You can also renew on-site at the event by bringing $10 check/cash.

Evening Training Sessions at Challenger Aug 4th and 5th!!

The Huntsville Pickleball Club has partnered with the Huntsville Parks and Recreation Department to offer beginner and intermediate training and drill/skill sessions.

Beginner Training

This session is for newer players that want to start with the basics and get started on the right foot! This is a two part training so plan to attend both sessions.

Huntsville Pickball Members!

Summer is upon us and temperatures are getting hotter!  So, come cool off at HPC’s 2025 “BEAT THE HEAT” Tropical Tournament on Saturday, July 26, 9AM, indoors at the UAH Fitness Center.  See our flyer below for details and a link to register.

We will be supporting Free 2 Teach again by collecting school supply donations.  Some good options are boxes of crayons, scissors, pencils (wood and mechanical), science goggles, glue sticks, paper, calculators, and notebooks.  Any donation will earn you 10 bonus points added to your game points.

Club members only (for liability reasons), so join or renew for $10 before you register.  Come play with old friends and meet some new ones.  If you’d just like to come watch and socialize, that’s okay, too – we’d love to see you there!
