Third Shot Drop

Hoping someone will reply to some posts soon....Interested to find out how others feel about the Third Shot Drop? I have found thus far, in my limited time in Pickleball, that many of the players I have encountered are not utilizing this shot. Is it a matter of not knowing how to do it, not practicing it enough, not needing to use it at the lower level skill rating, etc?

Watched a video where the shot is basically a longer dink shot. Of course dinking doesn't seem to be a big part of the lower level skill rating game either, but that's another topic.
