2024 General Membership Meeting

We have scheduled the 2024 General Membership Meeting for Saturday morning, January 27.  Rather than a formal meeting, we will provide access to 3 indoor courts in the gym at Trinity United Methodist Church, 607 Airport Road, for everyone to enjoy from 9:00am – noon.  While you’re there you can renew your membership on-site (with cash or check), meet the members of your 2024 Executive Committee (Ex Com), say “thanks” to former Ex Com members, and provide feedback on the club’s plans and objectives.

Play time change for Fern Bell.

Basketball has started at Fern Bell Recreation Center. Pickleball will no longer be available in the evenings or on Saturday at Fern Bell. See the Locations & Times page for available play times.

Basketball has started at Challenger.

Basketball has started at Challenger Gym so the time available for pickleball has been reduced. For example, this coming Monday, the time slot is only one hour. Please check the Locations & Times page for details.

Register for the Labor Day Shootout

All,

The Huntsville/Madison County Visitors Bureau is sponsoring the Sept 2-4 Labor Day Shootout Tournament being held indoors at the Athletic Club of Alabama. The Club is assisting with volunteers.

We are extremely fortunate to have many places to play pickleball and it’s free. This is because the City and County have been tremendous supporters of the game. In other cities where public facilities are not available, it may cost as much as $40/hour for a court. It is imperative that we and our pickleball player friends and family return this support by not only registering for this event but encouraging them, near and far, to register.  Please do not wait until the last minute to register.

Visit Second Annual Huntsville.org Labor Day Shootout (pickleballbrackets.com) and register.

If you have any issues in getting registered, please contact Joel Lamp, Huntsville/Madison County Visitors & Conventions Bureau, at JLamp@huntsville.org. The sponsors want to know so that the process can be streamlined.

See you at the Shootout!

Susan Turner
